On October 8, 2026, at L’Alhambra in Paris, Dutch pianist and composer Joep Beving presents a recital focused on his piano pieces. A prominent figure of the neoclassical current, he cultivates a minimalism in which repeated motifs, spare harmonies and a velvety touch invite attentive listening. From Solipsism (2015), written and recorded at home, to Hermetism (2022) on Deutsche Grammophon, via Prehension and Henosis, his albums trace a clear line: placing melody at the forefront and treating silence as a material.
On stage, Beving stretches time, makes the keyboard resonate, and plays with sustain and dynamics, following a patient progression that gives each note its due. His compositions, often heard in film and on screen, here gain a direct acoustic presence. A rendezvous to enter the heart of his writing, between contemplation, gentle tension and echoes that linger long after the final chord.
