Angine de Poitrine

On July 15, 2026, The Mod Club in Toronto hosts Angine de Poitrine, the instrumental duo of Klek and Khn de Poitrine from Québec. Since 2023, they’ve been shaping a sound that threads experimental rock, math rock and sharp-edged post-punk with a pulse built on the construction logic of techno. No vocals here: the set revolves around short motifs that stack, recede and shift, forming patterns that move more than they emote. A dry, precise drum kit anchors microtonal guitar and bass lines; chromatic phrases slip in and out, creating subtle tension inside asymmetrical forms. The music favors motion, variation and rhythmic displacement, landing somewhere tight, jagged and danceable.

After releasing Vol. 1 in 2024, the pair worked the Québec circuit and passed through festivals such as the Montreal International Jazz Festival. On stage, that trajectory reads as a method: lean structures, evolving repetition, energy channeled into detail. At The Mod Club, pieces change by degrees and hit in waves, with mechanics as present as momentum.
