Donato Dozzy is regarded as the architect of a sonic reduction that has shaped the genre of hypnotic techno. His approach is often marked by psychoacoustic precision. Classically trained, Dozzy cultivates an almost academic love of texture, which is evident in his ambient projects and in the polyrhythmic structures of Voices From The Lake.
For his curated party night Dozzy Night at the Panorama Bar in Berghain on 24 April 2026 at 20:00, he has invited two DJs who share his preference for depth in music: Fred P and Mary Gehnyei. Fred Peterkin, a protagonist of the New York school, embodies a deep house imbued with a certain spirituality. Under his pseudonym Black Jazz Consortium he merges futuristic synth pads with a melancholy that is rare in the contemporary club context. Rome-based Mary Gehnyei has just released the third record on Donato’s sublabel Afterhouse, whose four percussive minimal-house tracks contain the specific, misty-hypnotic textures the label is known for.
