On June 13, 2026, DaviD took the Rex in Toulouse with a set focused on Le But du Je, his first solo project. Behind that name is David Coscas, who put his alter ego Mcfly aside to return to his primary compass: music. A violinist in childhood and then a relentless guitarist, he used the pause opened in 2023 to carve a more intimate path in French, away from the web’s nods.

On stage, DaviD puts the guitars front and center and moves between melodic rock, post‑rock and deliberate neo‑metal touches. Influences cross freely — from Dream Theater to Incubus, from A Perfect Circle to Coldplay — producing a precise sound built on contrasts. The lyrics, drawn from a six‑track EP, probe the grey areas — fatigue, bereavement, battered relationships — while still letting light through. Between electric tension and moments to breathe, the live show strings together riffs, clear melodic lines and gradual climaxes, carried by a tight‑knit group of musicians.

This concert marks a milestone for DaviD, who is shaping his debut album in the studio. At the Rex in Toulouse, he champions a candid, introspective rock, conceived for the stage, guitar forward and unvarnished.
