James Baker

On April 10, 2026 at the Rostropovich Auditorium in Beauvais, James Baker presents a project conceived as a whole, where the writing leads the way. Self-taught, he wears multiple hats as author, composer, performer and producer, and weaves on stage a set that blurs the lines between indie pop, alternative rock, electro and rap. His cinephilia informs the construction of the concert, with a visual dimension that is in constant dialogue with the songs.

At the heart of the live show, Romy Rose, a double EP inspired by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, unfolds tracks tinged with melancholic pop and electronic colors. One senses affinities with the worlds of artists such as Djo, Fontaines D.C., Daft Punk and The Strokes, without copying their codes. James Baker explores memory, the desire for erasure and emotional resilience, questioning denial, love and identity. The narrative progresses in fragments, like a series of introspective scenes, alternating tension and respite, for a concert where text, sound and image answer one another.
