Zentone

Zentone is the direct meeting of Zenzile and High Tone, two trajectories from the French independent scene that come together to build, deconstruct and reassemble sound material in real time. On stage, the project operates like an open laboratory: layered writing, motifs that circulate from one camp to the other, basslines that lead the dance, dubwise drums, fluttering keyboards and a precise use of echoes that sculpts the space.

The repertoire draws on both volumes of Zentone (2006 and 2021) without being confined to them. Stripped-down themes, intensified, revisited: each piece becomes a worksite in motion, between electronic and organic, club and sound system. The mixing is shared, arrangements shift, breaks stretch out, and builds are sketched in subtle touches. The aim is not to demonstrate prowess, but to create a common ground where balance is sought and found in the moment.

On 7 May 2026 at the Centre Culturel Tisot in La Seyne-sur-Mer, Zentone offers a set conceived as an open session, faithful to the spirit of the collaboration: letting ideas circulate, putting two approaches in dialogue and giving the audience a living instrumental dub, patiently constructed, attentive to detail and dynamics. It is a dive into a musical exchange that preserves the spontaneity of the studio while embracing the energy of the live performance.
