Info
Birds on a Wire, the duo formed by Rosemary Standley (voice, also associated with the band Moriarty) and Dom La Nena (cello and voice), will be at the Théâtre Coluche in Plaisir on 29 May 2026. Their stripped-down voice-and-cello format opens a playground where chamber folk, chanson, pop and early music meet. They work on covering and reinterpreting songs, letting several languages and repertoires— from Baroque to pop—converse, with acoustic arrangements that put text and melody front and center.
After Ramages in 2020, the project continued with Nuées Ardentes in 2025, an album devoted to adolescence in which Bronski Beat, The Cure, The Doors, Barbara and Stefano Landi resonate, recorded with the Maîtrise de Radio France conducted by Sofi Jeannin. In concert, Birds on a Wire draws on these materials to build bridges between eras and to make familiar songs sound new, close to the voices and the cello.
