Daoud - Journée Internationale du Jazz

On April 30, 2026, at Le Gueulard Plus in Nilvange, daoud celebrates International Jazz Day with a set that pushes the boundaries. A French-Moroccan trumpeter, also a producer and composer, he moves through a jazz without imposed constraints, nourished by a sense of not quite fitting in that becomes a driving force. His music welcomes collision and caress, irony and frankness, held in constant tension like a line drawn between impulse and restraint.

With ok, his album released in 2025 on ACT, daoud dug an intimate groove around falling, repetition and the stubbornness required to start again. On stage, these obsessions take shape: motifs reiterated to the point of intoxication, silences that hold, crisp trumpet bursts, sections that brush against chaos before tightening. He plays more with the rules than he follows them, leaving room for accidents, displacements and a raw poetry.

Surrounded by his band, he also unfolds a visual imagination that embraces the flaw and a playful relation to childhood—not as a refuge but as a testing ground. The concert promises a living material: contained lyricism, obstinate pulses and eruptions that put everything back on the line for the duration of an evening in Nilvange.
