The Nigerian guitarist and singer unfolds his blufunk there, a fusion of funk, blues and Yoruba influences, marked by a percussive slap-guitar style and a precise, millimetric groove. Between crisp riffs, syncopated pulses and spare melodies, his pieces move forward on a guitar-bass-drums trio foundation, with that immediately identifiable vocal timbre.

From Blufunk Is a Fact? to Nigerian Wood, via African Space Craft, Liquid Sunshine and Black Orpheus, Keziah Jones has forged a direct songwriting approach and a distinctive sound. He returns with Alive & Kicking (2025), recorded live in Lagos, which brings together covers and new songs with his long-standing band. On stage, these tracks sit alongside his classics, replayed with tightened arrangements and a dynamic conceived for live performance.
