Marcelo Criminal arrives at Sound Isidro with that crossover of indie pop, lo-fi and alternative songwriting he has been refining in Murcia. His songs operate at short range: concise lyrics, slightly ironic, rooted in the everyday; direct melodies; guitars and keyboards that seek nuance rather than impact. A restrained voice, a bedroom-pop pulse and a taste for spare arrangements that leave room for the story. His name began to be heard beyond the Murcia circuit when Carolina Durante and Amaia covered “Perdona (ahora sí que sí)” — since then he has been building his own repertoire, with releases alongside Sonido Muchacho and connections to the country’s new pop scene.

In concert, Marcelo usually opts for short, precise songs that hit straightaway and build a recognizable atmosphere. At ContraClub, Calle de Bailén 16, Madrid, on Saturday, 16 May 2026, he will present a programme of recent compositions and early recordings, with attention to detail and the intimate tone that defines his writing.
