On April 9, 2026, at Casa Montjuïc (Barcelona), Bill Orcutt brings his guitar into rough, direct territory. A key figure in contemporary guitar since his days in Harry Pussy, he has refined a personal language made of short phrases, abrupt cuts and rhythmic displacements that rethink the blues, folk and jazz from an experimental perspective. Live, his approach compresses and detonates: improvisation at the edge, sustained tension and a physicality that pushes the instrument to open up other possibilities. Each piece is constructed and torn down in real time, between pulse and fracture.
Opening the night is Basque guitarist Joseba Irazoki, a restless and versatile musician who crosses indie rock, folk and free improvisation. His sets alternate instrumental passages and sparsely drawn songs, with guitar loops, distilled melodies and a marked attention to textures. An approach that places composition and the moment on the same plane, in natural dialogue with Orcutt’s exploratory energy.
