Ramoncín

Ramoncín arrives at Bilbao’s Kafe Antzokia on 30 May 2026 with a live concert that condenses his career from the Madrid clubs of the late seventies to the present. Born in Madrid in 1955, José Ramón Julio Márquez Martínez made a name for himself by blending the energy of punk, urban rock and sharp songwriting. His early records — Ramoncín (1978), Barriobajero (1979) and Arañando la ciudad (1981) — established a repertoire of street-level chronicles and social critique that in the eighties opened up to rock and roll, new wave and power pop with Ramoncinco (1984) and Como el fuego (1987), and continued into the nineties with Fe ciega (1993).

On stage he leans on a band with a classic lineup—guitars to the fore and a marked rhythm section—for a set that alternates fast, driving bursts with more narrative pieces and revisits different moments from his repertoire. In Bilbao he offers a journey through several decades of songs tied to the effervescence of the Movida madrileña and its aftermath, with an emphasis on direct lyrics and an electric pulse that keeps alive the spirit of the stages where he was forged.
