Dua Saleh, Sudan-born and Minneapolis-rooted, blurs rap, alt-R&B and experimental pop with a poet’s ear for rhythm and space. Raised in spoken word, they shift from low-key talk-singing to clipped, percussive flows, setting electronic pulses against shadowy hooks and close-cut lyrics. The EPs Nūr (2019), Rosetta (2020) and Crossover (2021) traced a path that probes identity, the Sudanese diaspora, spirituality and power, while keeping close to the Midwest’s independent scene through regular collaborations. On stage, the set folds bass-heavy beats into airy, melodic passages, with elastic phrasing and a focus on narrative detail. Also active on screen as Cal in Sex Education, Dua bridges music and visuals without losing the intimacy of their writing. See them live at The Mod Club in Toronto on September 20, 2026.
