Info

Abdelkader Secteur returns to the stage with Marhaba, his third show. A prominent figure in Franco-Maghrebi stand-up, he builds on a constant back-and-forth between Algeria and France, from family scenes to neighborhood stories, to unfold a narrative that feels conversational. Onstage, with spare staging and an engaged gaze toward the audience, he strings together portraits and everyday situations— from in-laws to paperwork, from public transport to intersecting generations—while moving between colloquial Arabic and French. Marhaba, which means “welcome,” sets the tone: a meeting where languages, reference points and small cultural mismatches are discussed, with a taste for wordplay, passing characters and lingering anecdotes.

On tour in France since 2024, Abdelkader Secteur stops at the Comédie de Lille, 204 rue Solférino, Lille, on 1 May 2026. His writing remains direct, rhythmic and nourished by an experience shared with the diaspora and those who encounter it, without artifice, leaving room for the relationship with the audience. Performance in colloquial Arabic.
