Hugh Coltman

Hugh Coltman will take over Théâtre l’Archipel on 11 June 2026 for an intimate-format performance. A British singer based in Paris, first noticed as a member of the blues-rock band The Hoax, he has charted a solo path where folk songwriting and blues blend with vocal jazz nourished by swing and the colors of New Orleans. On stage, his distinctly textured voice carries narratives, supported by brass arrangements and songwriting focused on storytelling. Between original compositions and reinterpretations of the American repertoire, he cultivates closeness, attentive listening and collective interplay, in a pared-down configuration that places the voice at the center.

Guest for 11 June: Thomas de Pourquery. He joins Coltman for a duo dialogue, combining countermelodies, improvisation and shared breathing. A meeting conceived for the stage, where chanson, groove and jazz inflections intersect in a constant ebb and flow between energy and restraint.
