On 29 March 2026, Les Abattoirs in Cognac will host Yarol Poupaud. A guitarist, singer and songwriter from the Paris scene, he first came to prominence in the early 1990s with FFF, where his playing blended funk, rock and rhythm and blues. Since then he has pursued numerous projects—from garage to soul and blues—while also producing in the studio for other artists. A close collaborator of Johnny Hallyday as guitarist and musical director on stage, he also led the Black Minou project, marked by taut riffs, a rock’n’roll attitude and nods to funk and boogie. His self-titled solo album, released in 2019, brings these facets together in songs sung in both French and English. On stage, the guitar remains central, balancing funk tension, blues pulses and catchy choruses.
Archi Deep completes the bill at Les Abattoirs in Cognac on 29 March 2026. The band will also take the stage to perform its material and establish its musical universe in counterpoint, for an evening centered on guitars and live energy.
