Info
Robyn Hitchcock is a songwriter, guitarist and storyteller positioned between British folk, psychedelia and alternative rock. On October 18, 2026, at the Privatclub in Berlin he will bring his wide-ranging repertoire to the stage: quirky, poetic imagery, dry humour, clear melodies and an eye for small everyday details. With more than 30 albums to his name, he reaches across the decades, placing older pieces alongside current songs and tying everything together with laconic stage remarks and precise guitar work.
Hitchcock first became known for the proto-psych-punk sounds of The Soft Boys, later for the Dada-tinged pop of The Egyptians and for an ongoing solo career. Albums such as I Often Dream of Trains (1984) and Eye (1990) highlight his more acoustic side; alongside them you’ll find more expansive guitar pop and shades of alternative rock. His lyrics orbit maritime motifs, railway lines, cheese, film icons such as Clint Eastwood, and a gallery of real and imagined characters. Live, this condenses into a concentrated set that casually brings together his different phases.
