Trans-X

Trans‑X, a project founded in Montréal in 1981 by Pascal Languirand, will bring its synths to the Molotov in Marseille on May 20, 2026. Driven by the EP “Living on Video,” which left its mark on the mid‑1980s, the group established a hi‑NRG and Italo disco sound made of synthetic sequences, treated vocals and razor‑sharp melodies, at the crossroads of alternative scenes and the club world. Between 1984 and 1986, the track climbed into international Top 10s and was played as much on rock radio as on dance stations.

For this appearance, Trans‑X presents A Tribute To Hi‑NRG 80's and Italo Disco, a roughly 90‑minute live show that revives this aesthetic on stage: musicians, dancers, lighting effects and, above all, the clear, distinctive textures of vintage analog synthesizers. Pascal Languirand revisits his repertoire and influences, with “Living on Video” as a touchstone and variations that plunge back into the original hi‑NRG and Italo spirit. The set is designed for those who love fast tempos, muscular basslines and synth‑pop choruses built for the dancefloor.
