On April 10, 2026 at Hafenklang in Hamburg, Lili Refrain meets an audience that appreciates her distinctive live approach. The Roman multi-instrumentalist has led a solo project since 2007 in which she layers electric guitar, voice, percussion and synthesizer in real time over loop stations—without a computer, without pre-recorded tracks. The result are repetitive, hypnotic pieces hovering between minimalism, folk and psychedelia, which also brush against blues, metal and lyrical hues. On stage she patiently builds her motifs, shifts dynamics and density, and lets voice, riffs and rhythmic patterns generate a pull that oscillates between invocation and cinematic tension.
Kee Avil from Montreal combines guitar, voice and subtly applied electronics into deconstructed songs that sit between avant-pop and experimental folk. Fragile melodies are shattered, grooves are displaced at the edges, and soundscapes rub up against whispers, flageolets and glitches. Her releases Crease (2022) and Spine (2024) mark stages of a practice that treats song form and sound design with equal importance; Vapor is announced for 2026. Live, she condenses this language into precise miniatures that bring together intimacy and friction, transforming the space into an intimate laboratory.
