Info
On 12 April 2026, The Saxophones bring their No Time For Poetry Tour to the Prachtwerk in Berlin.
Behind the duo are Alexi Erenkov and Alison Alderdice. Their sound is a delicate retro chamber-pop for the late hours: 1950s exotica, hints of art-noir, West Coast folk and smooth jazz blend with veiled guitars, warm saxophone and sparse drums. The pieces remain pared-down and breathing; subtle shifts in imagery, lyric and dynamics keep the tension.
Founded in the Bay Area, they released their debut Songs of The Saxophones in 2018, followed by Eternity Bay (2020) and To Be a Cloud (2023), which was recorded live in a disused church. Their new fourth album No Time for Poetry (2025) stays true to a smoky, faded glamour while adding a sense of restlessness and quiet urgency. On stage, new songs meet earlier material; the lyrics probe personal and political questions, balancing ironic resignation and cautious optimism. The set explores quiet intensity and fine nuance.
