Melody Gardot

Info

On July 2, 2026, at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier in Montréal, Melody Gardot returns to the stage with the quiet intensity that has become her hallmark. Her music moves effortlessly between vocal jazz, blues and Brazilian inflections, driven by a voice that privileges nuance, silence and melodies that unfold slowly. In concert she treats songs as short narratives, allowing tempos to breathe and the band to outline textures that range from intimate ballads to subtly pulsing bossa hues, always keeping phrasing and storytelling at the center.

Since the release of Worrisome Heart in 2006, Gardot has followed a path that mixes contemporary jazz with folk elements, expanded into orchestral refinement on My One and Only Thrill, and embraced Latin rhythms and Mediterranean colors on The Absence. Currency of Man introduced a more soulful, urban grain, while Live in Europe captured how her pieces stretch and settle in front of an audience. Sunset in the Blue revisited a crooner’s palette with broad arrangements, and Entre eux deux, a duo with pianist Philippe Powell, explored a spare voice-and-piano intimacy. This wide-ranging trajectory informs a concert program grounded in atmosphere, subtle detail and human connection—ideally suited to a venue like Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier.
