On June 21, 2026 at Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary, Bonnie Raitt brings her slide guitar and a songbook shaped by blues, rock, folk and soul. Since her Cambridge club days in the early 70s, she’s carved a direct, rootsy sound where guitar lines lead the way and stories sit close to the surface. Live, she moves with ease between intimate ballads and mid‑tempo grooves, revisiting milestones from Nick of Time, Luck of the Draw or Slipstream alongside newer cuts from Just Like That. The set leans on her distinct tone and a band built for dynamics, shifting from slow-burn blues to country-tinged turns and back again without losing the thread.
Special guest Jon Cleary opens the night. A British-born musician steeped in New Orleans funk and R&B, he brings rolling piano lines, clipped guitar rhythms and a rhythm-section feel that nods to second-line patterns. His songs move on pocket and phrasing, with harmonies that nudge the groove forward rather than dress it up. Together, Cleary’s deep-dyed R&B and Raitt’s slide-driven blend sketch a clear route through American roots music, from club-tight funk to late-night blues, all under the roof of the Jubilee.
