Info
Black Label Society lands at the Orpheum in Vancouver on March 18, 2026. Built around guitarist and singer Zakk Wylde since 1998, the band pushes a heavy metal sound fed by classic hard rock, southern shades and more melodic electric ballads. With a fluid lineup anchored by longtime bassist John DeServio and a four-piece setup, BLS forged its identity from Sonic Brew in 1999 through albums like The Blessed Hellride, Mafia and, more recently, Doom Crew Inc. On stage, the set navigates muscular mid-tempo riffs, bursts of speed, darker atmospheres and almost acoustic breaks, with Wylde’s rough but tuneful voice tying it together and a guitar tone that blends blues instincts with a contemporary punch.
Sharing the bill, Zakk Sabbath is Wylde’s power-trio dedicated to the early years of Black Sabbath. Formed in the mid-2010s, the project focuses on the 70s catalog, underlining the hard rock, doom and blues roots of those tracks, with a rotating rhythm section drawn from the metal scene. After a first run of live covers, the trio released Vertigo in 2020, a front-to-back recreation of Sabbath’s debut. On stage, the band leans into thick riffs, gravelly vocals, slowed-down pulses and a live-first approach to arrangements that keeps the energy direct and unvarnished.
