Info
On 14 May 2026, Max Mutzke will bring his distinctive voice to the Kulturetage in Oldenburg. The singer and songwriter rose to prominence in the mid-2000s and represented Germany at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Can’t Wait Until Tonight.” Since his 2004 debut album he has moved between soul-tinged pop, funk and subtle jazz influences; live he relies on organic band arrangements and plenty of space for vocals. His repertoire combines quiet soul ballads, more driving pop numbers and occasional reinterpretations of his own songs.
At his side: the Matti Klein Soul Trio. The group provides a warm, rhythmic foundation that supports Mutzke’s ballads as well as his more upbeat songs. Together they create a compact band sound with clear melodies and room for spontaneous moments, touching on different phases of his career—from German-language pieces to English tracks.
At the centre is the interplay between voice and trio, with dynamic arcs and fine nuances. An evening in which groove, songwriting and presence interlock, pared down to the essentials: strong songs, precisely played and presented directly.
