Walter Trout

Walter Trout, a US guitarist and singer, brings his electric blues-rock to Music Hall Worpswede e.V. in Worpswede on 14 November 2026. Influenced by Chicago blues and 1960s rock, he began in Los Angeles as a sideman in the circles of blues and soul greats, before stints with Canned Heat and John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers helped shape his tone and phrasing. In the late 1980s he founded the Walter Trout Band; with Life in the Jungle (1989) he launched a solo career that combines extended guitar passages, a tight groove and quiet ballads.

On stage, Trout mixes his own compositions with selected standards and leaves room for spontaneous dialogue with his band. Later albums such as Blues for the Modern Daze, The Blues Came Callin’, Battle Scars and We’re All in This Together take up personal themes without losing sight of the core: blues-driven rock, direct and song-oriented. In Worpswede he will span several decades of repertoire — from rolling shuffles to slowly glowing slow blues — with a focus on tone, timing and storytelling solos.
