Gauvain Sers

Gauvain Sers returns to the stage with Boulevard de l’enfance, his fourth album, written after a four-year hiatus. Between Paris and the Creuse, he rediscovers the ridge that suits him — where the intimate meets the political, where childhood memories illuminate the present. Now a father, he casts a more measured gaze on society and traces his stories back to their source: the ones born in cafés, on the road and at the kitchen table. There are portraits of everyday life here, a blend of understated humor and tenderness, calm indignations and confessions that hold fast in concert.

An heir to the lyric-driven chanson tradition, first revealed by his early chronicles of reality and sharpened by life on stage, Sers continues his thread here: to tell what changes and what stays the same, the small lives and the great gaps, without grand effects but with words that resonate. On stage, these new songs mingle with the previous ones, in a direct format that places the writing at the center.
