YĪN YĪN takes up residence at La Gaîté Lyrique in Paris on 11 April 2026. Originating around the Dutch duo Kees Berkers and Yves Lennertz, the band shaped its sound outside traditional studios before establishing itself on the European circuit of psychedelic, global-groove and hybrid scenes. Their first album, The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers (2019, Bongo Joe), anchors repetitive basslines, melodic guitars and motifs borrowed from Thai pop. With The Age of Aquarius (2022, Glitterbeat), keyboards and synthetic textures become more pronounced, without sacrificing the collective drive or the stretched forms that come fully alive in concert. On stage, YĪN YĪN blends psychedelic funk, motorik grooves and Southeast Asian melodies in a continuous set, propelled by the rhythm section and keyboards. This Paris stop encapsulates their trajectory: group energy, sharp riffs, layered synths and a pulse that takes hold.
