Asim Azhar

Asim Azhar brings his contemporary Pakistani pop to Vancouver on May 6, 2026 at Hollywood Theatre, 3123 West Broadway, Vancouver. Born in Karachi in 1996, he first drew attention as a teenager with online covers of English pop before turning to Urdu songwriting and the local scene. On stage, he moves easily from tender ballads to more rhythmic tracks, with upfront melodies, R&B shades, and hooks that slide between Urdu and English. His entry into the Pakistani industry came via early singles and TV drama soundtracks, then a turn at Coke Studio, where his 2016 duet Tera Woh Pyar with Momina Mustehsan boosted his visibility across the subcontinent. Since then he has signed notable tracks of the new pop wave like Jo Tu Na Mila and Ghalat Fehmi for the film Superstar, while asserting himself as a writer-composer on part of his catalog. Regular collaborations with urban producers feed a live set that moves between film-pop, heartfelt songs, and accessible electronic textures.
