Romare, the London producer and DJ also known as Archie Fairhurst, brings a focused DJ set to Hollywood Theatre, 3123 West Broadway, Vancouver, on March 1, 2026. Taking his name from visual artist Romare Bearden, he treats club music like collage: jazz, blues and soul fragments layered over unhurried house, broken beat and downtempo rhythms. From early EPs on Black Acre to albums for Ninja Tune (Projections, Love Songs: Part Two and Home), he has shaped a sound that slips between played instruments and crisp electronics. On stage, he reworks his own tracks alongside kindred selections, keeping a clear line between African American musical heritage, groove for the floor and contemporary textures. His sets move through polyrhythms, warm bass and dusty samples with a calm, steady build.
Max Ulis completes the lineup with a DJ set, setting the tone before Romare and steering the room into the night.
