Info

On 6 March 2026, Le Silex in Auxerre hosts King King, a leading figure of British blues rock from Glasgow. Fronted by singer-guitarist Alan Nimmo, known for taking the stage in a kilt, the band unfolds a direct sound in which sturdy guitars, warm keyboards and a rasping voice mingle with touches of soul and gospel. From “Take My Hand” to “Maverick,” King King has honed a repertoire conceived for the live setting, ranging from taut, groove-driven numbers to slower ballads, with melodic writing that stays in the mind. On stage, the energy is shared, the arrangements are crisp, and each piece goes straight to the essential.

As the opening act, Pur-Sang, a French female duo, brings a tender and forthright poetry. Beneath bright melodies there is a tension that speaks of resistance, of joy and of light despite the darker side. Intertwined voices, guitar and spare textures outline immediate songs carried by a wish to share without frills. It’s an introduction that establishes a different tone before King King’s blues rock.
