Info
British singer-songwriter born in London, Robyn Hitchcock emerged in the late 1970s with The Soft Boys, a psychedelic and post‑punk band linked to the Cambridge scene, before embarking on a distinctive solo career. From albums Black Snake Diamond Röle, Fegmania! and Element of Light to Globe of Frogs, he carved a clear line between folk rock, psychedelic pop and alternative rock, often backed by The Egyptians. In the 1990s he explored a more acoustic, introspective side with Eye, then returned to broader arrangements on Moss Elixir and Jewels for Sophia. Partly based in the United States, he increased his collaborations with indie and Americana musicians, ranging from Gillian Welch and David Rawlings on Spooked to The Venus 3 beginning with Ole! Tarantula. More recently, the albums Robyn Hitchcock (2017) and Shufflemania! (2022) continue a songwriting approach in which crisp melodies, psychedelic influences and British folk intertwine. On October 11, 2026, he will be at Les Trois Baudets, 64 Boulevard de Clichy, 75018 Paris, to revisit a repertoire spanning several decades.
