David Hallyday

David Hallyday presents Requiem pour un fou (Requiem for a Madman), a concert in which he revisits Johnny Hallyday’s work while weaving in his own. Heir to an extraordinary family history, a singer-songwriter and lifelong musician, he offers an intimate perspective on his father’s repertoire and on his own songs—between transmission, filial ties and the desire to perform. It is worth remembering that he wrote and produced Sang pour Sang, the pivotal album that sealed their reconciliation, and that he has forged his path with melodic, direct pop-rock, from “True Cool” to “Tu ne m’as pas laissé le temps.”

On stage, David does not settle for a static tribute: he reorganizes, sheds new light on and sets two responding universes in dialogue. From Johnny’s classics to the songs that have marked his own discography, the concert moves forward like a musical conversation between a son and his father, without the weight of nostalgia, with the energy and precision of an artist who knows these pieces from the inside.
