Roshi

Roshi, formerly known as Captain Roshi, makes his mark with an immediately recognizable raspy voice. Born in Congo and arriving in France at 11, he first navigated the flows of his favorite MCs before asserting a personal signature. Between Paris’s 18th arrondissement, Saint-Denis and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, his lyrics chronicle the street, power dynamics and clear‑eyed introspection, over trap productions with heavy bass, synth pads and slow to mid‑tempo rhythms. Sung choruses and tenser verses — this contrast shapes a dark, raw rap that he unfolds from project to project: Attaque, Contre-Attaque, W.A.R, Larosh… Regularly collaborating with his peers, he belongs to a new Francophone wave nourished by online aesthetics and a steady release pace.

On 19 November 2026 at Le Splendid in Lille, Roshi will be showcasing this dark, melodic repertoire, mixing standout tracks with new material. His cracked voice, his gimmicks and his storytelling give weight to a tracklist cut out for the stage.
