Info

Primitive Man returns to Le Chinois in Montreuil on April 21, 2026 to present Observance. After more than ten years at the vanguard of extreme music, the American trio sharpens its sludge-doom: crushingly slow tempos, rough dissonances and quasi-trance atmospheres, without losing the raw violence that forged their reputation.

Across six tracks, the band examines the erosion of the social contract, political disillusionment and the precariousness of contemporary life, with a more introspective songwriting marked by a newfound melancholy. Recorded in Chicago with Andy Nelson and mastered by Arthur Rizk, Observance favors a dense, stripped-down sound traversed by a cold lucidity.

Supporting act: Kollaps. An Australian post-industrial project now based in Iceland, Kollaps develops a confrontational sound in which violence is neither metaphor nor affectation. Their live show relies on medical and mortuary objects repurposed as percussion, placing the body, constraint and raw material at the core of the sonic apparatus.

A regular on industrial and experimental stages such as Roadburn, Roskilde and Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Kollaps offers a dry, taut set that stands between physical performance and extreme music.
