Info

Dianne Reeves, a major voice of American jazz born in Detroit, will appear at New Morning in Paris on March 4, 2026, accompanied by Romero Lubambo. A five-time Grammy winner, she has distinguished herself through a mastery of improvisation and an artful blending of jazz and R&B. In a rare achievement, she recorded three consecutive award-winning albums in the vocal jazz category. On stage and on record, her career has intersected with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim, and Sir Simon Rattle with the Berlin Philharmonic. The first artistic director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s jazz department, she has also left her mark on the Walt Disney Concert Hall. In the studio, she worked with producer Arif Mardin on A Little Moonlight, composed the soundtrack for George Clooney’s Good Night, and Good Luck, and later celebrated Nina Simone alongside Lizz Wright and Angélique Kidjo on Sing the Truth. Her album Beautiful Life brings together Gregory Porter, Robert Glasper, Lalah Hathaway and Esperanza Spalding, under the direction of Terri Lyne Carrington. An honorary doctorate recipient from Berklee and The Juilliard School, Reeves was the principal vocalist on The Woman King in 2022 and has been named an NEA Jazz Master. It’s an engagement in which her phrasing, sense of groove and the attentive interplay with Lubambo take center stage.
