H-Burns and The Stranger Quartet « Hommage à Leonard Cohen »

H-Burns, a French songwriter with American inflections, has twenty years on the road and ten albums to his name. His latest record, Sunset Park, was released in February 2023. A familiar presence on stages in France, across Europe and in the United States, he recorded his last four albums across the Atlantic, between Los Angeles and Chicago. Along the way he has collaborated with Pomme, Lou Doillon, Bertrand Belin, Dominique A, Joey Burns of Calexico and Kevin Morby — companions who map out a distinctive trajectory between folk and rock.

On April 9, 2026, H-Burns will be at La Coopérative de Mai in Clermont-Ferrand, with H-Burns and The Stranger Quartet, for a tribute to Leonard Cohen. The program will offer a journey through emblematic songs and less-expected selections, driven by spare writing and a narrative sensibility that structure his world. Without imitating or fossilizing the material, H-Burns revisits this repertoire by linking it to his own discography, with particular attention to the textures and dynamics that shaped his recordings between Los Angeles and Chicago. An evening conceived for those who appreciate chiaroscuro stories and melodies that hold their own.
