Marine Leonardi cuts to the quick with Mauvaise Graine. The French comedian observes the mechanics of everyday life without a filter and brings to the surface what’s stuck: couple dynamics, motherhood, the mental load, and the societal injunctions that cling to you. Her dark humor doesn’t go for effect—it cuts clean. Direct writing, an eye for detail, dry punchlines: she highlights contradictions, love and exhaustion, uneven divisions of labor and the roles people assume without thinking. On stage she moves from clear-eyed observation to blunt confession, twists the barbed little lines, upends domestic clichés and spills what we usually keep to ourselves. The laughter is taut and precise, like a breath.
