Info
On the bill on 10 March 2026 at Les Cuizines, Chelles, Bernard Allison delivers an electric blues steeped in the Chicago tradition and conceived for today. The son of Luther Allison, he grew up in the workshop of a master before asserting his own voice: incisive guitar work, a solid groove, and a warm, grainy voice that sits between tradition and rock energy. Born in 1965, he draws from the history of the genre without being confined by it, varying the textures: taut shuffles, biting slide, ballads with a restrained tempo, touches of soul and a subtle hint of funk.
In 2024 he released Luther’s Blues, a double album tribute to his father in which he revisits key themes while extending that legacy in his own way. On stage, this material takes on greater depth: solos with room to breathe, tight interplay with the band, rearranged covers and original songs aligned in a continuous arc. In Chelles he will come to present this repertoire and a few classics, guided by listening and interaction with the audience — an opportunity to hear how he connects roots and the present, balancing respect for the standards with contemporary impulses.
