Daniel Lavoie

Daniel Lavoie returns to the stage at Forum Le Mans on March 22, 2026 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Tension attention. Released in 1983, this album marked a turning point in his career and established the Canadian singer-songwriter at the heart of the Francophone world, both here and in France. He revisits his signature songs, brings back into the spotlight pieces that have accompanied audiences over the years, and links them to other moments in his repertoire, in that manner of letting stories and images circulate as close to the words as possible.

On stage he is joined by Jean-François Groulx on piano and musical direction, Paul Brochu on drums, Mathieu Désy on double bass, and Laurent Guardo on percussion. The arrangements, spare and precise, give the lyrics room to breathe. Backing vocalists Karine Pion, Émilie Pompa and Myelle carry the harmonies and broaden the reach of the choruses. It’s a journey through four decades of songwriting, led by a voice recognizable above all others and a sense of storytelling that has shaped his songs.
