Exposition Générale

On October 25, 2025, at the Fondation Cartier for Contemporary Art in Paris, the General Exhibition brings together the artists from the collection around a narrative in four chapters. Machines of Architecture explores the city through models, drawings and installations. Being Nature examines our relationships with the living world. Making Things sets art, craft and design in dialogue. A Real World intersects artistic practices with science and technologies. Dedicated focus spaces offer singular routes and revisit works that have marked the history of the Fondation since 1984, showing how they resonate across different periods.

The scenography by Formafantasma, drawing on the scheme conceived by Jean Nouvel, opens up perspectives, creates correspondences and rereads forty years of creation without imposing a fixed hierarchy. Off-site, Galerie Valois presents drawings by Andrea Branzi and Stefano Boeri related to the Grand Paris project, extending the dialogue with the city. A collective passage in which each artist finds their place within a living map of contemporary art.
