Les Wampas

Les Wampas will be performing at the Saline Royale d'Arc-et-Senans in Arc-et-Senans on 14 March 2026. Formed in the early 1980s, the band led by Didier Wampas occupies a singular place in French rock, situated somewhere between punk urgency, an offbeat yé-yé heritage and bursts of rockabilly. Dry rhythms, screeching guitars, chanted slogans and unexpected turns: their songwriting favors the moment, a clear line and hooks that stick in the mind. Album after album, Les Wampas maintain a direct sound, with clever lyrics that play on contrast and off-kilter love stories.

On stage, the band gets straight to the point: a leaping vocal, a taut rhythm section, no-nonsense riffs and a direct rapport with the audience. The set alternates standout songs and new material without losing its thread, moving between melody and electric trance. Les Wampas continue to move forward in their own way, without forced nostalgia, with the straightforward, effective approach that has followed them since their beginnings.
