After 490 days away from the media spotlight, Amel Bent marks her return with an eighth album born in the shadows, written and composed to express the wounds, strengths, weaknesses and truths that run through her. Twenty years after her debut, she’s hitting the road again with brand-new tracks alongside the songs that have punctuated her career, carried by a voice at the crossroads of pop and R&B and by more direct songwriting. On record as on stage, she opts for stripped-back arrangements that serve the lyrics and the melody, and opens a more personal chapter by revisiting her story away from the gloss.
