On February 19, 2027, Role Model arrives at the Zénith in Paris with his emotionally raw alternative pop. Behind that name is Tucker Pillsbury, an American singer-songwriter who has shifted from an early rap-influenced path to intimate, sung storytelling, carried by supple melodies and direct lyrics. Revealed with Rx (2022), a confessional record nourished by multiple influences, he later broadened his range with Kansas Anymore: 13 tracks with folk-tinged accents, a more acoustic production, and a meticulous approach to writing, co-written with Noah Conrad, Ian Fitchuk, Scott Harris, or Jonah Shy. On stage, you can feel the same tension between gentleness and candor, notably through “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out,” which went viral and was performed on American television, or “Some Protector.” In the wake of his No Place Like Tour, he also extended the album via Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye), enriched with new tracks, before announcing Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, due August 7.
