Ugly Kid Joe returns to France and will perform at the Élysée Montmartre in Paris on February 6, 2027. The California-based band, led by Whitfield Crane on vocals and Klaus Eichstadt on guitar, has always played a nerve-fueled blend of hard rock, alternative metal and funk metal, with that sense of irony that marked their early 1990s beginnings.
Impossible to talk about them without tracing back to the EP As Ugly as They Wanna Be and to "Everything About You", then to America's Least Wanted, a pivotal record that firmly established them and delivered catchy riffs, straightforward choruses and corrosive winks. The rest of their career has alternated twists and comebacks, from Menace to Sobriety to Motel California, before a breakup and a reformation in the 2010s.
Since then Ugly Kid Joe has hit the road again with Stairway to Hell, Uglier Than They Used to Be and Rad Wings of Destiny, led by a tight core consisting of Crane, Eichstadt, Cordell Crockett and Dave Fortman, with Zac Morris on drums. On stage, expect a set that draws broadly from both classics and newer material, without losing the bite that is their signature.
