Cradle Of Filth

Fondata nel 1991 nello Suffolk, Inghilterra, Cradle of Filth si è costruita attorno al cantante Dani Filth, l’unico membro originale presente fin dall’inizio, con una carriera segnata da numerosi cambi di formazione. La band si impose negli anni '90 con un black metal fortemente influenzato dal gothico e dal symphonic, dove si intrecciano chitarre veloci, tastiere, narrazione oscura e riferimenti alla letteratura fantasy, al romanticismo noir e al cinema horror. Dopo i primi riferimenti The Principle of Evil Made Flesh (1994), Dusk... and Her Embrace (1996) e Cruelty and the Beast (1998), Cradle of Filth amplia il proprio writing verso un extreme metal più ampio e teatrale con Midian (2000), poi Damnation and a Day (2003), registrato con orchestre e coro. Nymphetamine (2004), Thornography (2006), Godspeed on the Devil’s Thunder (2008), Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa (2010), The Manticore & Other Horrors (2012), Hammer of the Witches (2015), Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness of Decay (2017), Existence Is Futile (2021) e The Screaming of the Valkyries (2025) prolungano questa traiettoria tra aggressività del black metal, melodie gotiche e arrangiamenti sinfonici. Abituata a tournée internazionali e a festival come Wacken Open Air, Download, Bloodstock o Ozzfest, Cradle of Filth mantiene una identità visiva e sonora singolare nel panorama del metal estremo britannico.
