On 30 November 2026, Desire and Johnny Jewel will take the stage at Petit Bain in Paris for a live show that extends the Italians Do It Better universe: nocturnal synth-pop, slowed-down Italo disco, and a tense, high-strung new wave.
Led by Megan Louise's voice, Desire has, since its beginnings in Montreal, cultivated a streamlined electronic pop, balancing melancholy with bursts of chorus, with a pronounced affinity for 80s textures and late-night atmospheres. The project marked the 2010s with "Under Your Spell," before returning to the album format with Escape (2022) and then Games People Play (2025), maintaining this blend of cold romance and synthetic sensuality.
In production and on stage, Johnny Jewel unfolds his cinematic aesthetic: repetitive basslines, misty pads, mid-tempo rhythms, and a strong sense of staging. A central figure in Glass Candy, Chromatics, Symmetry, and co-founder of the label, he navigates between instrumental albums and film scores, with the same obsession for atmosphere and storytelling.
