A British artist at the crossroads of indie alternative, pop and spoken word, mustbejohn moves forward with a highly narrative, direct writing, nourished by everyday life: the city, friendships, nights out, the times when everything moves. His strength lies in this blend of raw storytelling and choruses that linger in the mind, carried by lively productions, sometimes tinged with light electro, designed as much for listening as for the stage.
His early tracks established a universe rooted in social observation and introspection, with a spoken-sung phrasing typical of the UK. In the sound, you can hear echoes of The Streets, Gorillaz or Arctic Monkeys, without pastiche: the same ability to make energy and the precision of the lyrics coexist. In 2025, he clearly pushes his project toward a more defined indie alternative direction, notably with the EP Hope Came Last. On stage, he presents a repertoire built to connect, balancing rhythmic tension with more intimate moments.
