Info
On March 26, 2027, Vieux Farka Touré will be at Les Cuizines in Chelles, presenting his distinctive approach to dialoguing between the Sahel and the wider world. A guitarist and singer from Niafunké, he draws a line between Songhai and Manding traditions, Afro-pop pulsations, and a rock energy that pushes riffs toward trance. His playing rests on repetitive motifs, improvisations that stretch out, and clear melodies, like a desert blues that has kept the taste for grooves. On stage, he can just as readily adopt an electric setup or shift to more stripped-down moments, centered on voice and guitar. His repertoire spans from his foundational albums to his more recent projects, notably the exchanges and collaborations that have marked his career, up to a deliberate return to traditional Malian structures. A concert designed for movement, nuance and rising intensity, never losing the thread of the song.
