Info
On July 28, 2027, at Vaillant Live in Derby, Jools Holland brings his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra for a night built around the piano, brass, and that hard-swinging groove he’s been refining since the late ’70s. Known first as Squeeze’s founding pianist before carving out his own lane, Holland leans into a mix of rhythm and blues, boogie-woogie, swing, and rock’n’roll, with fast, punchy phrasing and arrangements that nod to big-band traditions.
With his orchestra, the show is less about solo spotlight and more about collective momentum: tight horn lines, driving rhythms, and room to stretch out when the groove demands it. Expect a set that connects his long-running live approach to the spirit of his recordings, from early ’90s releases through later big-band shaped projects, always anchored by that restless, rolling piano.
