Info
On April 8, 2027 at Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg, Angine de Poitrine brings its instrumental duo format into a live set built on tension, precision, and forward motion. Active since 2023, the Quebec project sits where experimental rock, math rock, and angular post-punk brush up against a more mechanical, loop-driven logic that sometimes feels close to techno.
On stage, the music takes shape through accumulation and subtraction: short motifs stack up, then drop out, shifting the balance and pulling you into new patterns. Expect matte, exacting drums, microtonal guitar and bass lines, and chromatic phrases that create subtle friction inside often asymmetric structures. No vocals, no filler: just rhythm displacement, small variations that hit hard, and grooves that stay tight while still pushing you to move. Released in 2024, Vol. 1 set the tone for this approach, and this Winnipeg date is a chance to feel that evolving repetition at full volume.
